The Glass Castle is an incredibly touching memoir .Walls survives poverty , fires ,a mother that I think is crazy and lazy .A father that drinks instead of caring for his family . This dysfunctional family does love each other and do live unique lives . This book reminds me a bit of Angelas Ashes or Running with Scissors but with less humor . I really enjoyed it !

I liked this one too Jen. I read it a few years ago, but there are images that still stick with me today. I found the author's unbelievable ability to forgive sort of untenable ... clearly, she had profound issues (by her own admission) that might have been better off addressed. Some of that stuff was quite severe. But that too made me really like her and want to read her story. It's disturbing, but fascinating too.
