This was a book I had had on my shelves for awhile. Since I am trying to read from my own library first I picked this book for this month. I had been wanting to get to it for awhile. I like Bill Bryson's writing and this was one of his best. It is all about Australia. There were parts that I was laughing out loud. Especially funny were his discussions of all the things in the country that could kill you (ie. sharks, snakes etc. ) He visits good chunks of the country on a couple of trips. I learned alot about the country, its history and inhabitants. I would highly recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars.

P.S. I would also highly recommend Walk In the Woods, also by Bryson. It was the first book of his I had read and it's one of my favorites. It was about him hiking a good part of the Appalachian Trail.
